Ambrose belongs to Arania.

Done for a contest at another site.

As usual, done completely in Photoshop. Used dozens of references on Baroque costuming and melded them (and took a little artistic license). Couldn't find any decent references for the background, hence the slight sketchiness of it. I don't think the sketchiness detracts too much from the picture though.

Amazing details! There is nothing that I do not like about this painting. The sketchiness of the background creates the perfect backdrop for the main feature, Ambrose. The ambiance can truly be felt... a mixture of anticipation, mystery, and serenity all captured perfectly. My favorite part is definitely Ambrose, especially his face expression and posture.

I have favorited this piece. Beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing it.

The atmosphere of this is incredible, it's so wonderful to look at. The foreground and background are both just amazing, and I love the whole dang thing so much!
