I saw some gorgeous artwork by an absolutely amazing artist named ukitakumuki the other day. (See my Favorites page.) It inspired me to try something new with my own artwork. I didn't want to copy ukitakumuki's style. (Heck, I couldn't if my life depended on it. I'm not that good.) But I did want to experiment with my own.
And this picture was the result. I'm pretty happy with it. It turned out fairly close to what I pictured in my head. Anyway, it's not very detailed, but it wasn't meant to be. This was fun to do.
Sketched, colored, and shaded on Photoshop. Took about 2 and a half hours total. (Most of the time was spent doing the clouds. I hate drawing clouds.)
My Rurouni Kenshin obsession has been going strong for almost a year now. Wow. I've never been so obsessed with anything like this in my life. Woohoo.
i wouldn't have even guessed it was a drawing of ruroni kenshin by the thumbnail. it's so much better when someone tries things from a different style then just trying to copy what somone else already created. great work. *favorite*
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
