It's been quite a while since I've had a chance to paint something for myself. Been doing realistic type commissions for fellow grad students, so I wanted to do something unrealistic for a change.

A lot of technical errors in this one (including some flat out crazy lighting screw-ups) but overall, I'm happy with it since the basic idea and tone of the pic came through pretty well. Much thanks to

for their help and suggestions. And man, there's gotta be an easier way to do dragon scales....

The usual. Done in Photoshop from beginning to end. No references for this one.

Simply amazing. I love your work. You really don't use any references for these things? How did you do the dragon scales that you're complaining about them? lol How did you do the lampshade? I really wish I could see these things step by step, I am just so enchanted by your finished products! Wow. I hope you don't find me irritating that I've been asking you so many questions, but you are so talented I'd love to learn everything I can from you.
