Battousai and Tomoe at the inn in Kyoto. It's been a year since I did any RK fanart. I got inspired from my own contest, heh. Tomoe's face is a bit messed up, but I've tweaked it enough. I'm moving on. I'm not sure why I chose a circular canvas. It seemed right for some reason even though the image quality suffers a bit from saving as a GIf file.

The usual. Start to finish in Adobe Photoshop, no references.

The shading is great, it crates all the atmosphere of the unspoken words between the two chara !

The dark atmosphere is pulled off absolutely beautifully (you make me want to colour something that's that dark ^__^). Really, really good use of rimlight. The details of the flowers and strands of hair are wonderful, and the golden gleam in Kenshin's eye is so very....battousai XD. I wouldn't say that Tomoe's face is messed up - but it isn't perhaps as long as most drawings show. She doesn't look quite like Tomoe, but still very beautiful.

very nicely done..love their expressions especially himura or battousai as most would call him that
tomoe's hair looks really good..but i love kenshin's eyes .. there seems to be a bit of kenshin in them but the battousai is still prevalent there.. :clap:

I really love how you've added in such beautiful contrast! The sparkle in Tomoe's eyes is very beautiful, and there is definately some romantic undertones. Great job!

My god that looks almost real,i love the yellow glare in kenshins eyes,and the whole night/shadow theme really seems to add a "mysterious" aura in the pic.
Maybe you should've added Rain where kenshin is, i think it would suit the bond between kenshin and tomoe.

The circular canvas is perfect with the pic ^_^. I've already drawn the lineart for my entry (guess who are the characters on it), but it will take a while for me to submit the final version to your contest T_T.
