My entry for *nJoo's 2D Rock-off contest. It's a bi-weekly contest that's part of the Starock contest he's co-hosting with `zemotion, so if you're interested check out his journal for info on the 2D art portion of the contest, and her journal for info on the photography portion of the contest. Thanks to both of them for hosting something so fun. :)

As for this, hmm. The theme was to draw a fairytale steampunk style. I've never done a full steampunk painting before, and now I know why. It. Takes. Forever. :-P Goodness knows, I love doing textures, but I think I'm all textured out for a while. Sheesh!

The usual. Start to finish in Photoshop. Used Google for loose refs of swallows, piping, and aviator outfits. Textures were done via a combination of *leventep's, my own, and Photoshop's default brushes.

This is awesome. If you're ever in the mood to do some airships, let me know. I'm looking for some companion artwork for a series of short stories that I'm working on. The colors in this are great.
