Ok let's see - we have an image hosted on a profile that is 1 day old and asks you to visit a website with a strange url with a promise of a financial reward on an another website. How do you even imagine that would work? And now, of course, people start crying that their computers got infected with malware. Which is great - every genius who fell for this obvious phishing scam deserved it. I hope your shitty computer burns and you along with it.

Opinions are a Dangerous thing: Art StylesThis isn't about narking on anyone no, infact this is just my own muses really! You could say this is a journal for ENCOURAGEMENT! *SHINES*
I find sticking to one style restrictive if you are a beginning/moderate artist! (even professionals I might say! though I can't speak for everyone)
Having a distinctive look on how your art is done and produced is understandable and its a desire to appear unique to the point some one can just SEE your work and instantly think 'Oh! that's Ten-days!' or something along the line. However, when you are trying to find who you are and what kind of art you are to produce, I recommend trying, well, a lot of different things! Different styles, mixing styles, different colouring techinque, brushes, tools, shading. Don't feel dependant on what you are already doing and don't feel pressured by people just for trying new things!
Push out of your comfort zone. Can't draw hands? don't avoid it! draw the heck out of them! (how else are you going to learn?)

What I personally find the hardest to draw is feet and hands. I found that with a lot of practice and a lot of frustrating mistakes my feet and hands actually look at the very least almost the way i want them to be.
Now my favorite Style of drawing is Anime or sometimes semi-realism, and i find that by doing studies of the more traditional style realism actually helps improve my anime pictures greatly. For instance i would practice drawing my hands and feet in different positions holding different things and from different angles. I also find it extremely helpful while i'm drawing and i'm having a particularly hard time drawing a hand or a foot in a certain position i will stop for a

Random Update on... Just About Everything

Hmm, it's been a long while since I visited my DA page.  I apparently hit 100,000 views sometime along the way, and I have no idea when it happened.  All I can say is wow, thanks to everyone who visits my page.  I'm glad you took the time to drop by.

So... a bit of an update on my life.  I've been keeping busy with freelance work for the last few months.  A friend of mine from film school and I decided to start a website/dvd design company, so we've been working our asses off on that.  It's been good so far, and we're able to make enough to cover rent and a bit more, but it's taken up a lot of time.  Especially considering I'm trying to get some minor crewing done on small thesis film shoots and such, and I'm trying to get cinematography jobs here and there.  Also been doing some writing, working on two different screenplays.  (One of them for a small amount of pay, yay!)  I've been freelancing in so many different fields, I'm not even sure what to call myself when people ask me what I do.  Heh heh.

Anyway, I'd limited myself to really posting at only one site for the last few months, and I'm afraid DA wasn't that site.  But  I've got a little more time this month and the next, so I'm back.  I hope everyone has been well.  Apologies for not responding to notes and comments in that time.  I'll try to get to some of them eventually.

I don't really have much to post in my gallery since I haven't finished any serious personal artwork in months.  (Just speedpaints and rough sketches for the most part.) I do have a few commissions to finish up, although I am not taking any new ones until the current batch is done.  But I almost never post those here anyway, so that's not an issue.  I do have one pic I'm going to post later today, but it's just a glorified speedpaint, so blah....

A few things to announce:

I've run a Rurouni Kenshin Fanart Contest every year for the last 3 years.  And I've decided to continue with it this year, although I'm not sure how much of a turnout there will be (since I think the fandom is dwindling in numbers a bit).  But here's my shameless plug for that.  So for those who are aware of my RK site, yes, the contest is on for this year (even though I haven't updated the site itself in ages.)  Please consider submitting some artwork.  The more the merrier!

I'm going to be attending Anime Expo again this summer.  I'm looking forward to seeing friends from DA, Gaia, and RK related sites there.  If you happen to go, please feel free to look for me in artist alley.  Drop by and say hello!

And that's about it for now.  This was a rather pointless Journal post, wasn't it?  Heehee!  ^_^

Eh, it's not as fascinating as it sounds, really. Basically, I design stuff, and my friends makes it. She's the technical one. I just try to make things pretty. Heh! It's not the most exhilarating of jobs, but it's paying pretty well, so that's always good, I guess.

The cinematography jobs are far more interesting. And, unfortunately, far more rare. Bah.

Ya, I'm going to AX this year, and Comic Con for a few hours *my Dad's willing to drive again o_0*... and Fanime... and some convention in Fresno... and alot more if I can try... *THE YEAR OF CONS FOR ME!*

And ya, I'm cosplaying again. 4 people this time for each day. Yuuki from Vampire Knight, Takiko from Fushigi Yuugi Genbu Kaiden, Sakura from Time Jump Naruto and Kairi from Kingdom Hearts 2.

The only one you'd probably be interested in is the Takiko one since it's truly just an old schoolgirl costume (with the kimono and hakama's) and since the colors change every pic (there's no set colors) I'm making it like the Kaden Misao one so I can kill two birds with one stone there and have two Misao costumes, I'm gonna jump in on the RK photoshoot with it ^_^. (3 Birds actually, since it's my exsuce to make a nice kimono o_0.)

That was long, sorry, heh. (And I think you're more pro than most anime-ish artists btw.)

I'm afraid Sakura and Kairi are the only characters I recognize from your list, but I'll keep my eyes peeled.

I'm waiting to hear back from a few people regarding table space, so I'm afraid I can't make any offers at this time. But I wish Ramy good luck. I have some of his art posted at my Kenshin site. It was a long time ago. I doubt he remembers me. Heh!
