Hey guys, sorry I haven't been on DA much in the past week. I was at Comic Con with my sister ~
HelloCaity and my friend *
dlin. And holy hell, was it fun. ^_^
I'm not really going to go into crazy detail about the con, but I had a great time wandering the dealer's room and attending the various panels. I got a book autographed by one of my favorite authors, Jacqueline Carey. My sister got an autograph from Steve Purcell, the creator of Sam and Max (if any of you are familiar with that). My favorite panel was the one with Kevin Smith, Judd Apatow, Zach Snyder, and Frank Miller. (It was raunchy and fun.) I ate a lot. Slept like the dead each night. Saw a bunch of cool costumes. Spotted Samuel Jackson for about 5 seconds as he walked past us among some secret entourage which quickly swooped him into an off-limits room. Bought some nice art books. Got tons of free stuff. Snapped a photo of Nathan Fillion as he was signing posters (although I didn't get into line for that. It was far too crowded.) And by pure chance, as we were leaving the con for good, I saw Jonathan Frakes and Marina Sirtis standing nearby among the crowd, trying (surprisingly successfully) to blend in.
Man, Comic Con is wonderful. I went for the first time with *
dlin in 2006, and I plan to go every year from now on if I can. Not only is it fun and entertaining, it's often pretty inspiring as well. Can't wait until next year.

The only downside is that my DA message center is a mess right now. And more importantly, I have a ton of work to catch up on. No time for personal art at the moment, and that's really frustrating, since I'm so in the mood for it!

Oh, I missed some really awesome panels, apparently. There were so many, it was impossible to go to them all. Did any of you go, by any chance? How was it for you?

Edit: 29.Jul.2008
Ugh, hurt my wrist during the stupid earthquake this morning. (Just twisted it while grabbing onto a railing to steady myself. Stoopid.) But it hurts to type, so I probably won't get to my messages tonight. Blah.
Oh, fortunately it was my left wrist (I'm right-handed), so it only affected my typing, not drawing. But it's fine now, thanks!
